Trouble Installing Lr4 onto Mac Laptop

Mac MacBook Pro meets all Lr4 stated requirements.  It has a core-duo Intel processor, running Mac OS 10.6.8, has

plenty of RAM & hard-disk space on a SSD drive & 1440 x 900 ppi resolution.  Once Lr4 is installed, the icon is

covered by a grey circle with a slash, stating it is not supported. 

When Adobe 800 customer service is contacted, the script readers in India state that Lr4 is not supported on a SSD drive.

I find this unbeliveable, especially given the latest Apple offerings come equipped  with otional SSD.

    Have you tried removing Lightroom 4 and then reinstalling from the latest update at http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=113&platform=Macintosh.  Once you install 4.2 you will then be prompted to enter your serial number upon first launch.
