I had a prblem with my Mac that necessitated my hard drive being wiped and so I have to now reinstall all my external ie non apple applications. For some reason my photoshop elements 8 will not reinstall but the support advisor programme cannot identify any issues. Been sitting on the support telephone line for ages and losing the will to live does anyone know what error code 2 is and what I can do to overcome it? Thanks

    Hi,

It is possible that the permissions on your drive are causing this issue.

I would recommend creating a new user account with administrative privileges which will reset all permissions. Try installing the application in the new user account and let us know if you continue to have the same problem.

    Hiya

Have tried installing with the new user account but unfortunately had the same result. The disc itself still looks immaculate with no scratches or dinks having only been used the one time before and then put back into its box. The installation quits when it gets to elements 8 and then spits the disc out.  What do I do now, I spent 45 minutes on the phone this afternoon to the telephone support line and all I got was the recorded message and canned music.
