Trouble starting my CS2 reinstall: "please configure your computer and monitor" message
I have a first-generation MacBook, running Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6.8).
I've been using InDesign CS2 to lay out a nonprofit publication for over a year now, and I had no troubles until I tried to migrate the suite to another old MacBook my organization wanted to use. My copy of CS2 was somehow damaged in the process.
Via live chat, an Adobe tech support person advised me to uninstall my original copy of CS2 and then download/reinstall the version provided here: Download Acrobat 7 and CS2 products
I completed the download and started following the instructions here: http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/magic/creativesuite/CS2_EOL/MLTI/CS2_install_Mac.pdf
All was going fine until I clicked the Adobe Installer icon. A message popped up that said this:
To run properly, the Adobe Creative Suite 2 needs your computer to be set to display more than 256 colors, and your computer and monitor must support a resolution of at least 1024x768. Please configure your computer and monitor appropriately and then restart the installer.
I don't understand this, because I have never done any such color-configuring or monitor-configuring on this MacBook before, ever, and CS2 was working just fine on it before all this drama began. I opened the color panel under System Preferences>Display>Color, but I don't understand any of the information found there, and I don't know what to change or why I should change anything.
I will be very appreciative if someone can advise.
