i am trying to install the creative suite package from the disc. my dad gave it to me because he is not using it anymore. so after installing and entering serial number, the next window says the serial number i entered indicates that i am upgrading from a previous version of creative suite and i need to enter that serial number, but i am not upgrading. this is the only version i have-- from the disc. and my dad did not have an older version-- only this one. help!

Nothing to do here. It very much tells you what it wants and your dad not having a previous version sounds severely fishy. Unless you can provide the program with a serial of whatever the qualifying product it just won't install nor properly activate. So ask your beloved again and work it out.

well thanks for basically accusing me of software piracy. awesome. as if i wasn't frustrated enough with adobe's complete lack help by not answering phones or emails, the only person to answer me on this forum offers no help but instead accuses me of trying to steal software. thanks for nothing. don't bother replying to this post.

Hi lauraggie,

For the best assistance, I recommend our chat support at http://adobe.ly/v6wfLL. Our chat representatives can provide a personalized experience to resolve the issue you describe. A yellow "Chat Now" button will display whenever an agent is available to attend to you. It'll be a good idea to keep the serial number and order details etc for verification pusposes.
