Question

Trying to install CS5 Design Premium on iMac OS 10.14.6

When I try to install from my disks I get a progress bar indicating Installing Adobe Installer, when it gets to where it should open it quits instead. Icon shows briefly on task bar then disappears.

When I download the .dmg file from Adobe and open it to install, when I click on install.app I get the message install.app cannot be opened, eject disk.

I think I need to get a compatible version of Adobe Installer but I am baffled as how do that. Apparently so is Adobe support, I spent 1 and 1/2 hours on chat with support stating the problem as above, they had me download the .dmg and when that didn't work I asked to download Adobe Installer, they then told me that I had to come to the community because Adobe didn't support CS5 any longer?

That is correct... CS6 and earlier are no longer supported

Apple did not maintain backward compatibility, so try this to install old programs

Thanks,

I tried using the terminal as instructed but same results. I don't think the problem is with CS5 but maybe it is with the installer.

Actually, I don't think CS5 (or even CS6) will install on that operating system version
