I bought a new iMac and want to transfer CS5 from my old iMac. It's telling me to uninstall but that app isn't working either. Help?

When I click uninstall or actually try to open Photoshop CS5 a text box comes up, "Configuration error. Please uninstall and reinstall the product. If this problem still occurs, please contact Adobe technical support for help, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen. Error 6"

Configuration error 16 | CC, CS

uninstall all cs5 (if anything is installed) on your new imac.  clean (Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6) and then install on your new imac using your serial number and the installation files.

Downloadable installation files available:

Download and installation help for Adobe links

Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages.  They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

Thanks. Unfortunately "Uninstall" isn't working either. When I able click it says, "Configuration error. Please uninstall and reinstall the product. ...." I'm told not to just drag the app into the trash. So how do I uninstall? (I've "deactivated" CS5 on my old iMac. But I did put it on the new iMac)

Deactivating it on the old machine should be sufficient to allow the installation and activation on the new machine.
