unable to download Adobe Illustrator on Mac OS X

I tried to install a free trial of adobe illustrator on my mac osx (from the official adobe site), and it said I didn’t have the right system requirements. When I look at the list of requirements, it just looks like a lot of gobbledy gook. Could you help to simplify things for me?

    What operating system/version does your system have?  If it is not 10.9 or higher then your system is not within specs for using the software.  Similar things could be said for the other items listed.  System requirements | Adobe Illustrator
