Unable to purchase and install update from my free trial

I am having difficulty trying to purchase the license to use PS. When I selected the option to buy now, the four blue squares would just keep spinning. I am also having trouble updating software on my macbook. It's currently OS X Version 10.9.5. not sure if that's the issue or not. Thanks for any guidance.
