Question

Unable to re-activate CS2 [was:Downloading, Installing, Setting Up, Activation]

On Windows XP, Why does the activation process not work after downloading a copy of CS2 from the adobe download site? I have legal copies of CS2 Suite and have performed the necessary steps as outlined by Adobe.  Why does Adobe not provide immediate verification of the product and activate it after it has been properly and legally downloaded?  If the Activation server for CS2 has been discontinued by Adobe, then what good is the product to a long time user when a computer crashes and the downloaded version cannot be activated either?  After a number of hours of atttempting to get activation done I'm still not able to use my legally purchased CS2.  Are there no solutions to this dilema?

did you use the serial number(s) posted - not your licensed serial number(s) - with the downloaded file(s)?

if you did that correctly, no activation is needed.

I could not find a spot to give the serial number posted with the download.  That's part of the problem.

open an installed program and click help>activate.
