unable to update Lightroom 5.2 for WIN 7 - PC

I recently bought Lightroom 5.2 (build 922700) and installed it on my Win 7 PC.

Each time I use it I get the message saying New software for Lightroom is available.

When I go to the site Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.5 the only option seems to be to download the new program, which I do, but then it says there is an application error. It happens on both the laptop and desktop.

Not sure what the problem is???

you see an error message when trying to install lr 5.5?

check the file size of that exe. it should be 920.3MB

if it's not, redownload.

if it is, use a different browser to download
