Unable to update or download any Creative Cloud apps.

Hey all,

A few days ago, I tried to update to the latest version of After Effects CC, but was unable to do so. I followed a number of online troubleshooting techniques to resolve this issue, one of which required me to uninstall Creative Cloud and then reinstall it. In order to do that, I was required to uninstall every Adobe product I had on my computer.

Following this, Creative Cloud's install would hang at around 25%. I used the CC Cleaner application and tried again, without any luck. I eventually found a direct download link which let me download and install Creative Cloud without any issues.

After doing this, I began reinstalling the apps I had just uninstalled. This is where my current problem begins. Each of my downloads hang at different percentages. After effects hangs at around 49%, Photoshop at around 17%, Camera Raw at around 58%, Media Encoder at %44, etc. There doesn't seem to be much of a pattern to it.

So far I've been getting around this issue by directly downloading earlier versions of the apps through the direct download links available on the Adobe website, however I'd really love to have the latest versions of the products! So far I've rerun the CC Cleaner application, redownloaded & reinstalled Creative Cloud, I've added Adobe to my firewall exceptions, I've tried downloading each application one at a time, and I've run the Limited Access Repair tool. Nothing has been working thus far.

I've also looked through the download log files, and have found the following:

11/11/19 01:23:47:504 | [ERROR] | | | | | | | 16896 | The windows error code is - 12030
11/11/19 01:23:47:504 | [ERROR] | | | | | | | 16896 | Failed to send the request to server to get the response - 12030
11/11/19 01:23:47:504 | [ERROR] | | | | | | | 16896 | the download job (147) failed to execute. The job state is STOPPED_STATE

I've also seen this error report in the download logs:

11/11/19 01:21:02:013 | [INFO] | | | | | | | 15560 | Canceling the job for thread 1. The thread seems to be hanged since no activity for the last 56 seconds. time reported is 0
11/11/19 01:21:02:013 | [ERROR] | | | | | | | 4388 | Error 119076983 in WinHttpReadData.

11/11/19 01:21:02:013 | [ERROR] | | | | | | | 4388 | The windows error code is - 6
11/11/19 01:21:02:013 | [ERROR] | | | | | | | 4388 | the download job (46) failed to execute. The job state is STOPPED_STATE
11/11/19 01:21:02:013 | [ERROR] | | | | | | | 4388 | the download job (46) failed to execute. The job state is ERROR_STATE

...and I've seen this:

11/11/19 01:18:30:179 | [ERROR] | | | | | | | 4752 | Failed to send the request to server to get the response - 12017
11/11/19 01:18:30:179 | [INFO] | | | | | | | 4752 | the download job (38) is cancelled

In each of these circumstances, the download/install has seemingly continued (based on the download log, which continues with similar reports as it normally produces). At the end of the log file, it reports the following:

11/11/19 01:29:56:751 | [INFO] | | | | | | | 15560 | decrementing the thread count. now the active thread count is 12
11/11/19 01:29:57:267 | [INFO] | | | | | | | 4388 | the download job (288) is cancelled
11/11/19 01:29:57:328 | [INFO] | | | | | | | 10008 | the download job (279) is cancelled

11/11/19 01:29:59:822 | [INFO] | | | | | | | 4752 | the download job (274) is cancelled

11/11/19 01:30:01:005 | [INFO] | | | | | | | 16896 | the download job (269) is cancelled
11/11/19 01:30:08:575 | [INFO] | | | | | | | 16996 | job (269) is still not terminated. Closing the thread handle now
11/11/19 01:30:11:801 | [INFO] | | | | | | | 16996 | forcing the job (275) to terminate.
11/11/19 01:30:11:801 | [INFO] | | | | | | | 16976 | the download job (275) is cancelled
11/11/19 01:30:19:374 | [INFO] | | | | | | | 16996 | job (275) is still not terminated. Closing the thread handle now

If anyone has any ideas as to what the issue could be, or how I could resolve it, I'd be very grateful! It's been giving me headaches all week, and I'd really love to use the latest versions of the products I'm paying for!

Hi, I have the same problem here. 😞 I have tried a lot of things and nothing seem to work. I'm thinking about doing a fresh Windows 10 install. Are you on the new version yet?

Between my previous post and now, I actually got a new computer. It's working absolutely fine!

I really have no idea what the issue was, but I'd say reinstalling Windows 10 is a good idea.

Good luck, and best wishes! Let me know how it goes.

Hi! Thanks for the update!

In the meantime I did a fresh Win10 install. Still no ACC installation whatsoever. Further investigation of the logs lead me to this page: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/error-exit-6-exit-7-cc.html
I tried solution 2 first (seemed obvious in my sitiation) and the first signs were great: Illustrator installed succesfully. But then I tried Premiere and it hangs at 44%. 😞 Now, I try customer service for direct downloads.
