After purchasing the stand alone Lightroom 6 app I can't install because the serial number can't be validated. any suggestions

I don't believe any of your suggestion apply. I do appreciate the effort. I bought the downloadable version. I have the serial number and it's listed in my products purchased. I was able to install in trail mode but I still get "can't verify serial number" when I try to enter the serial.
