Question

Uninstall nightmare

My hard drive crashed. After I had a new one put in I found I had to re-install cs4 creative suite. So I just tried to re-install on top of what I had. That didn't work I kept getting a "finished, with errors" message.

So I decided to uninstall. Just after I started the process, I performed a force quit, because there was one program I did not want to uninstall. Well, that's where my nightmare started. Now I can neither un-install or

re-install the suite. Any advice?

Run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, then try again.

Thanks, I found some info on line for the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool. That worked. Now uninstall seems like it will work. But I do have one question. Can I uninstall, perform a clean install and then bring my preferences, plugins, etc, over from my backup?

Are the preferences for the same version of the software?  Are the plug-ins third-party, not produced by Adobe, plug-ins?  Finally just in case what operating system are you using?
