Uninstalling old versions when they don't show up in the CC Cleaner Tool or in the CC Desktop App

All of my PSD files try to open in the 2017 CC version (giving me an annoying error pop-up) now that I have 2018 installed, yet I can't find a way to uninstall the 2017 apps. I've kind of accepted this annoyance as "that's just how it is," but that's silly if I can fix it.

So here's the problem:

In Finder, in my Applications, The "Uninstall..." alias is broken for all of the Adobe CC programs.

Yet the actual program apps (and support files) from 2017 are there.

When I look on the CC Desktop App, I only see the current versions of each program — no old versions.

When I run the Adobe CC Cleaner Tool, the old ones don't show up separate from the current ones (and I don't want to clean off the current ones unless that's the only way—is that the only way? Start fresh and redownload the new ones?) here either.

What else can I do? Clean up all and then re-install all?

yes, if you want to clean your computer, do it thoroughly:

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.

if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 4 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

Thank you! I will try doing a thorough clean and reinstalling everything starting with the desktop app.

(I wouldn't think that one would be necessary, but might as well.)

I've been hesitant to do anything drastic so that I can keep operating, since these programs are my livelihood.

you don't have to clean anything.  you could just leave well-enough alone.
