Uninstalling Premiere Pro CC on a Mac

I think I messed up big. Premiere Pro CC wasn't running properly on my Mac, so I was going to try to uninstall it. I dragged the Premiere Pro CC folder from the Applications window to the trash bin and trashed it and now the Creative Cloud software doesn't recognize that it is not there, it assumes it is. I can't re-install it. Help please! Deadline is looming!

Try this link to download Pr CC directly from the web: https://creative.adobe.com/products/premiere click on Download then you should be able to install it again.

Hi,

Please Go to /Applications/Utilities/Adobe/Installers and run the Premier Pro CC Uninstaller from there. After uninstall is  successful, please quit CC desktop application and start it again. Now you should see the option to install Premier Pro CC again.

Anirudh

P.S. Dont try the time machine route as it may or may not mess up licensing of Adobe Apps.

Hi Anirudh,

Are you saying that CC and Time Machine are incompatible (or do you mean there's a risk)? If so doesn't that really need addressing, I'm guessing that quite a few Mac users may have tried TM to solve some CC instalation issues since Monday and I've not seen anywhere else that there is such an issue.

Thanks.

Hi,

We have seen Time Machine changing permissions indescrimintaely, not all hard disks being backed on some machines leading to different drives being in different state etc. Time Machine operates on schedule. At this time not just us, some other app may be in between making some changes. Specifically, there is nothing to be done to make apps "Compatible" to time machine. It is something that time machine should do on its own.

Anirudh

Firstly I'm assuming that you've tried to reinstate from the trash can but emptied it before you realised.

If so then try this, it's not a perfect solution but it might get you out of a hole in the short term.

On the same page as above, change to Pr CS6 just below where it says "In this version" then download CS6.  That might be enough to get your project done.

Last resort if you have Time Machine running you can reinstate to a time before you removed Pr CC.

Absolute desparation attempt as a short-term fix: I'm affraid you might have to try a clean install of CC - so you'll need to remove that and all other CC apps and start again.  Have a look on the CC forum because there's some stuff about a fresh install there, I'll post on here if I find it whilst you're trying the other stuff.

Good luck

Thanks, but that just launches the CC desktop application which says I already have Premiere Pro CC installed, which I don't. Any other ideas please? I'm fairly desperate.
