Question

Unsuccessful previous uninstall causing new installation error.

A while ago I "uninstalled" adobe CC apps from my computer in an incorrect manner. I'm not sure why I wasn't able to do it the correct way, but I desperately needed the space on my hard drive and just ended up deleting the source files. I'm attempting to redownload the same CC apps now but keep running into a 206 error and nothing I follow fixes it. I'm thinking it could be because of my failed uninstallations. Any tips to help would be appreciated.

you could probably skip to download the cc desktop app using the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html but i think you might encounter other errors while installing, so i recommend you do the following to set yourself up for success:

start here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-download-install-logs.html#error206

if those fail,

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

check for, and if available, update your os

repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired.

update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creativecloud.adobe.com/apps/all/desktop?action=install&source=apps&productId=creative-cloud

if you're unable to download the cc desktop app at this stage, use the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials
