Update Button Not Working

Question

I'm attempting to update Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. from my Creative Cloud. CC is showing updates available for multiple softwares, the Update button will change to hover color but not activate when clicked on. I've closed out of all my softwares before attempting updates. No error text or waiting text appearing, there is absolutely no interaction when I press the Update button.

reset the cc desktop app: make sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R

if that fails, restart your computer and retry updating.

if that appears to fail (and your computer meets specs), open ps and ai and see if they've been updated (and it's not a notification error).
