Update downloads but message continues to state I have an update to install

I hit installand the update loads; however, a moment later, I get the same prompt to install update

Hi Michael,

It means your update is not completely installed.

Try to rename the AdobeUpdaterPrefs.dat file to AdobeUpdaterPrefs.dat_old from following location.

Mac OS	/Users/<user name>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdater/1.0/AdobeUpdaterPrefs.dat
Windows 7.0 and Higher	C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0\AdobeUpdaterPrefs.dat
Windows XP	C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0\AdobeUpdaterPrefs.dat
