Update Required - But I Already Have the Latest Windows 10 Version

I am using Windows 10 21H2. I run Set-up.exe to reinstall Adobe Premiere Elements (APE) 2020. I get this message (no quotation feature available in this posting window):

Update required

Your browser or operating system is no longer supported. You may need to install the latest updates to your operating system. Learn more

I have installed the latest updates to my operating system.

When I click "Learn more" in that message, Internet Explorer opens. Internet Explorer! Remarkable.

The webpage that opens in IE tells me that, "Starting August 2020, only Internet Explorer version 11 and later are supported for signing in." The Settings (gear) icon in IE > About Internet Explorer does not say what version it is; it only tells me about my version of Windows.

The webpage says, "If you see a warning even after you've updated the browser or operating system, ensure that you're running the latest versions of your Adobe software." It provides a link that allows me to download APE 2021 or 2022 "and then use it as full or trial version." I am not interested in running a trial version, nor in buying a new copy of APE. I want to use APE 2020. I already have that. I am simply trying to install it.

Could someone please explain how I can simply install my software?

Later version of Elements (2019+) seem to require the Creative Cloud desktop app to be installed even though Elements is not a subscription app nor is it any part of the Adobe Cloud..

 

Download and install the Creative Cloud desktop app. No need to subscribe to anything.

Then install Premiere Elements 2019.

Thanks for the quick and accurate info, John. That seems to have been the solution, or at least it has advanced me beyond that particular bottleneck, as installation continues. I didn't have to do anything in Creative Cloud after installing it. I just started the APE 2020 install and closed Creative Cloud.
