Updates are made available to all Cloud members but when you update is up to you.

You can choose automatically or at a time of your choosing.

Unfortunately updates sometimes have a habit of changing familiar features, breaking existing workflows or - worse - introducing new bugs. Thus, many users choose the conservative route of updating when they are ready.

If you're a professional artist in the middle of a busy day of Photoshop the last thing you want is for automatic updates to take over your computer and interrupt your working day. If you're a hobbist, you may be happy for updates to be automatically applied immediately so you can explore new features. It's your choice.
