enable installation by unidentified devs, How to Open Apps from “Unidentified Developers” on Your Mac

and update by downloading the files directly and then applying them:  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

    Thank you kglad for answering.

I was able to open the downloaded file and allowed the "unidentified developer" file to open, but the error message comes when I click on the 'Startup' app.

Do I need to proceed that way, or can I simply copy the downloaded update patches to the proper folder in the Application? and will they be "installed if I do that?

    Thanks

no, you can't just copy files.

did you use the default directory names when installing?  if not, you can probably just rename the install directories to the correct name.

for any other problem, you'll probably need to reinstall.  but unless you have a need for a particular update to a particular program, it hardly seems worthwhile.
