Updates not compatible

I have happily been using creative cloud on my Mac for a long while.

Suddenly CC and Photoshop need to update so won't open.

Can't update as the updates wont work on my OS and can't update my OS as Mac is not young enough.

Is there a way round this, or is it basically saying spend another 1k to access photoshop?

I don't need the latest version but I do need something!
