Updating Adobe CS6 Design & Web Premium For Mac via Creative Cloud or Update Manager 10.0 doesn't work

Hi there, I would like to ask you for your help because I cannot fix the updating problem.
I spent some hours on it and I am not an computer idiot.

I bought a license for Adobe CS6 Design & Web Premium For Mac. The installation with the licence key worked (with some troubles related to Sierra OSX but these could be fixed). But, after installation the applications cannot be updated. When I click for instance Fireworks CS6, InDesign CS6, Dreamweaver CS6 or Acrobat X Pro via menu section "update", it always starts the Creative Cloud. The Creative Cloud says all apps are up to date but they are not (DW is still version 12.0, InDesign still version 8.0 or Acrobat X Pro is still version 10.0.0). I downloaded the Application Manager 10.0 but when I run it, again Creative Clou pops up and claims it is all up-to-date – though it is obviously not. I tried to deinstall the Creative Cloud but it rejects and claims I cannot deinstall it because I would need it.

I download the updates now each separate and tried to install them but the Creative Cloud or Update Manager tool doesn’t accept the updates when manually downloaded. So what can I do to make my Adobe CS6 Design & Web Premium For Mac up to date?

Thanks a lot!

Hi John,

reading your linked content and other forums I found the following way for enabling the updates:

1) deinstall of Creative Cloud via AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool.dmg

2) deinstall of Adobe Application Manage via AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool.dmg

3) deinstall of one application within the suite (InDesign)

4) rebooting

5) reinstall of the deinstalled app from the suite (InDesign)

6) rund out of an app from the suite within the menu list the Update

I don’t know if all of these steps are necessary but this procedure worked to make the udpater work again and it indeed updated some of the apps BUT not all. For instance Photoshop Extended or Dreamweaver didn’t update via the origin Adobe Application Manager coming with the suite.

I tried to manually download the installation files but they were not accepted either by the Adobe Application Manager. The workaround for this is:

1) desintall the apps manually you want to update

2) reboot (maybe this step can be skipped?)

3) reinstall via Suite installation file

4) run update via the menu of that app

Read Cloud takes over https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2089127 for some ideas (see reply #1)

-includes information on how to stop the update manager and/or Cloud from running at startup

-above is for Windows, but may help with ideas for Mac
