Updating Creative Cloud Desktop: Error code 190

I can no longer update the Creative Cloud desktop app on Windows 10. I keep getting Error Code 190!

My Windows installation is up to date and has always been fully compatible with Adobe software. Microsoft itself will continue providing extended security updates through October 2027.

Microsoft — Extended Security Updates

Adobe’s own website also lists Windows 10 as compatible:

Adobe — Creative Cloud system requirements

Why am I no longer able to update the app? Are you seriously trying to force customers to buy new hardware and switch operating systems?

This is outrageous! It violates consumer protection laws here in Brazil and amounts to false advertising, especially when you claim the software is compatible but, in practice, it does not work as advertised!

I’ve been seeing reports of this issue on this forum for over a month. When is Adobe going to issue an official statement or provide a solution?

    Thank you for posting, @brunoc21266307.

I understand how frustrating it is to see Error 190 when attempting to update Creative Cloud Desktop, especially when your Windows 10 installation is fully up to date.

Before we go further, can you confirm whether you recently attempted to install or update Adobe Bridge? We've seen cases where a failed Bridge installation can leave Creative Cloud Desktop in a state that subsequently triggers Error 190 when it attempts to update.

In the meantime, please try completely removing and reinstalling the Creative Cloud Desktop app using the Creative Cloud Uninstaller Tool:

    https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

After uninstalling, restart your computer and then download and install the latest version of Creative Cloud Desktop:

Please let us know whether you recently installed Bridge and whether the reinstall resolves the issue, or if Error 190 continues to occur, @brunoc21266307.

Thank you for your response. I followed all the steps provided: I completely removed Creative Cloud Desktop using the Uninstaller Tool, restarted my computer, and downloaded the latest version. Unfortunately, it did not resolve the issue, and Error 190 still occurs.

    I appreciate the update, @brunoc21266307.

Did you attempt to install the current release of Bridge on this computer? I see that you are receiving an educational discount. Is the computer or network managed by your school?

    Please see step 3 of

for information on how to locate additional information about why the computer is encountering the FATAL error 190. If you can, please post the information from the log file for the most recent occurrence of Error 190; it would be appreciated.

The log files are appended to each time you install, so the most recent copy of the error will be at the end of the file, @brunoc21266307.

I look forward to your update, @brunoc21266307.

I’ve checked all the other threads, and none of them provided a solution. All I found was frustration and dissatisfaction among Adobe’s paying customers. If you have other link to a response that actually solves this problem, please share it here.
