Updating updater fails....

I'm trying to download a trial of InDesign. THe updater tells me there's a new version available.

I say "Download Now", it does, asks me if I want to replace the old one, I say "Replace".

Win7 asks if Adobe can modify the system (I'm an administrator on my machine). I say yes.

In about 3-4 seconds, the installer pops up a message that says it failed.

I'm waiting for something to finish and will try again to get the current and new version info, in case that helps.

In the meantime, any thoughts?

    Which trial of InDesign are you trying to download and install?  Where are you downloading the trial from?  Could you please provide a screenshot of this message indicating their is a new version?

    THe problem isn't with Indesign, although re-reading my note I may not have been clear. The problem is with the updater itself. When I ask to download a trial version of CS6 InDesign, I get what you see below:

    So, I hit Download Now and get:

    I then hit Replace and get:
