Upgrade from CS4 to CS6

Just upgraded the full premium suite CS4 to Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium.  I was told to download the upgrade first then uninstall CS4 - is this correct? I haven't been able to uninstall as the computer gives a message that 'Bridge' is still open (when it's not) and wont proceed with uninstalling.  After the upgrade to CS6 I can no longer open Pdf's sent by email or web.  When clicked (to open) there is a pause, a footnote indicating 'connecting' but the doc then completely closes.  Help!

Too vague. You are not providing any info on youre system. For al lwe know, this could simply be your mail client/ browser. On the otehr hand, Acrobat could simply not be serialized/ installed correctly and therefore not launch. As a test, save the PDF locally, then open it from there.
