I recently upgraded my photoshop subscription. My question is should I delete my old version first then install the newer version?

and to add another nit, don't delete anything.

if you decide, after reading the other expert suggestions, to remove your older version, properly uninstall it using the cc desktop app per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

No, this is not necessary. You can simply run the new installer and install the newest version over the older one. Everything will be fine after that.

To clarify: there are upgrades and updates.

For major version upgrades (v.22 to v.23), the newer version will install separately side by side the existing version, not over the older one.

For updates (23.1 to 23.2), the update will install over the top of the older version,

Each major Photoshop version installs in its own folder.  I have several major releases of Photoshop side-by-side without any problems.  Once you're certain you're happy with the upgrade version and don't need your previous versions anymore, you may unistall from CC Desktop App.  Click on the 3 dots icon.  See screenshot.

Hope that helps.

Merry Christmas!

If you mean Photoshop Elements, and not Photoshop, do you use the Organizer and Catalogs?

You can leave both versions on the computer.  They are independent of each other.

Do you have any add-ins for your current version?

If yes, verify they will work with the newer version
