Upgrade: Serial Number "not for compatible product"?

Hi, I would like to upgrade my CS5 to CS6. Upon entering the old serial number when installing, I get an error message saying that the old serial number is not for a compatible product. How can I resolve the issue?

What product is the CS5 serial number for and what product is the CS6 serial number for?

Hi, thanks for your reply. They are for CS5 Design Standard and CS6 Design Standard.

I don't see any reason for the mention of not being compatible if they are the same collections.  The only thing I can suggest is that you try contacting Adobe Support thru chat.  They might help since this is a CS6 matter.
