Upgrading and Installing Adobe Acrobat

Hello

I have Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional on my PC (part of an Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Standard - upgrade version). Although I am not able to upgrade Adobe CS3 to CS6, I gather that it is possible to upgrade Acrobat 8 Pro to the latest version. Most important, I want to install the Acrobat upgrade on a new PC running Windows 7.

The serial number for my existing upgrade version of Acrobat begins with 1118-xxxx although the registered upgrade version of Adobe Creative Suite 3 begins with a different suffix.

If I buy the upgrade to Acrobat 8 Pro, I have been told that I can put the new upgrade disk into my new PC and will be asked for my previous serial number (1118-xxxx and so forth). Once this is entered everything will work on my new PC and I do not have to put any previous software owned on my PC. Is this correct?

Thanks

Phil

You cannot upgrade suite-bundled versions to standalones and that is that. Your serial number won't work. It's an "either/or" thing, not "maybe/ perhaps this could work". Spare yourself the trouble, just get Creative Cloud.
