I purchased Lightroom 5 to upgrade my Lightroom 4 on my laptop. It upgraded well. I attempted to then upgrade my Lightroom 1 on my desktop and I get the following message. " This file was blocked because it does not have a valid digital signature that verifies its publisher". How do I get around this.

    Correct.

Lightroom 5 requires Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1.

Hasco you can just install Lightroom 5 directly.  After you enter the serial number you will then be asked to enter the serial number for the qualifying previous version.
