Using Lightroom 6 serial no. to "reactivate" v5.7.1 32-bit

I started using the Lightroom 5.7.1 30 day trial version, and it expired while I was on holiday. I decided to buy the software outright, and bought Lightroom v 6 via Amazon. No mention that it was 64-bit only. I only found out when I tried to install it.

Is there any way I can use the version 6 serial number to "reactivate" my current 32-bit version? Any help appreciated!

No. Serial numbers are both version and operating system specific. If you never went beyond the trial of version 5.7 then you never activated it. Adobe does not sell older versions of their products, so if you want to activate it you will need to find some third party vendor and take your chances with them.
