when I enter my serial number after installing my download it says that it is invalid

I used the serial number listed on the adobe site under "my products" after I signed in. I entered the serial number in the box that popped up after the install. It says that the number is invalid.

The serial number provided on the website is different from the serial number provided in the confirmation email. Only the one in the email works.
