just re-installing photoshop due to some issues lately - right before I am starting a large project and wondering where to find the info that shows how far along the download is? I didn't think it would take this long and haha, maybe I shouldn't have done that with a deadline!

I believe that you might be getting Photoshop Downloading now on the screen, but nothing is happening and you are unable to see any progress?
If that is the case I would suggest you to download the Creative Cloud Desktop application first Download Adobe Creative Cloud apps | Free Adobe Creative Cloud trial
and this would help you downloading Photoshop cc and you would be able to see the download progress bar.
