    Thank you for posting, @MariaLauraStrini.

I appreciate your long-term use of our services, as mentioned by @leo.r  we are no longer distributing a version of Photoshop Lightroom or the desktop version of Photoshop that will run on Mac OS 10.11.6.

Please see the following for information on the type of computer you will need to use to install the currently available versions of Photoshop and Photoshop Lightroom:

    Hi Maria,

With OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), you are going to be locked out of the modern Creative Cloud versions, but your MacBook Pro specs (16GB RAM and an i7) are actually plenty strong enough to run older builds smoothly.

For maximum stability on El Capitan, you should look at installing Photoshop CC 2015.5 (Version 17) or Photoshop CC 2017. For Lightroom, Lightroom CC 2015 or the standalone Lightroom 6 are the final versions that officially supported 10.11.

The standard Creative Cloud desktop app usually hides these older legacy versions by default because Adobe technically only supports the current and previous major release. You'll want to check the preferences or settings menu inside the Creative Cloud desktop app and look for a toggle that says "Show Older Apps" to even see them as downloadable options.

Are you looking to use a specific feature, or do you just need the core tools for basic editing?

No the versions you mentioned will not be shown and there’s no official way to download them. Avoid posting low-quality AI nonsense.

The newest Photoshop version that runs on El Capitain 10.11.6 is Photoshop CC 2018 (ps version 19.1.9) and Lightroom is CC 2015.14 or Lightroom 6.14 perpetual license version.

However, since those are not available from Adobe any longer, there may be a way to install a newer macOS on your MacBook Pro using OLCP (Open Core Legacy Patcher) that allows use of one of the available subscription versions of Photoshop and Lightroom.

If you could tell us the year of your MacBook Pro.

As an example, I have a 2015 MacBook Pro using OLCP (Open Core Legacy Patcher)

that is running macOS Sonoma 14.8.5 with Photoshop 2026 (ps ver 27.5), Camera Raw 18.3 and Lightroom Classic 15.3.

Photoshop Elements 15 was officially compatible with El Capitan.

But that hasn’t been sold in many years. And finding a legit copy now might be difficult.

El Capitan (10.15) is obsolete software from 11 years ago, and it should not be used for security reasons.

At a minimum, you need one of these modern systems to run Adobe desktop apps.

    • Win11 or Win10
    • Mac Tahoe (26), Sequoia (15.7) or Sonoma (14.6).

    Photoshop CC system requirements:

    Photoshop Elements system requirements:

    Hope that helps.
