Question

Why am I being asked to reinstall CS2 after having gone through the same process some time ago?

I have had CS2 for years and previously went through the special process of reinstalling it when I bought a new PC. Why, then, am I being asked to go through this convoluted process again? There seems to be no sense in this. I am in Australia and have to wait until Monday to speak to someone in Adobe. Has anyone else had this annoying experience?

CS2 + Acrobat 7 + Audition 3 (AND EARLIER) Activation Server is gone, so read below

You MUST use the special version and serial number on the page, not your original disc or serial number

    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.html

NOTE that CS2 will not install at all on a "modern" Mac with an Intel CPU, and when you install the special version of PPro2 on a Win7 or Win8 or Win10 computer, you MAY need to right click the program icon and select WinXP compatibility from the option popup

Also, that version is so old that you will not receive any support from Adobe

Perhaps I need to make the situation more plain. I bought CS2 some years ago, using it professionally, and when I bought a new PC I was forced to go through this process when Adobe refused to accept my original activation data. Why, then, am I being asked to go through this inconvenience a second time? Surely, having already reinstalled the product and provided the appropriate numbers and having the product activated long ago, I cannot see why I am being prevented from continuing to use the product without further intervention from Adobe. Adobe needs to fix this, perhaps by cancelling this intrusion into my use of this software or by supplying an activation code to allow me to use it without inconvenience.

I can't resist commenting on the 'so old' comment. CS2 could still be used by creative professionals to do most of what they need to do nowadays.

I don't work for Adobe and I don't have access to your computer, so I don't know why your current registration is no longer working

    >or by supplying an activation code to allow me to use it without inconvenience

What I DO know is the link I provided above does exactly what you asked... you download the special version of the program and use the special serial number

You may (probably will) need to uninstall the old version before installing the special version
