Why am I not allowed to cancel my subscription?
I was chatting with customer support and I told them that I want to cancel my subscription. They said that I'll be charged 50% of the remaining monthly fee for the rest of my contract period. Apparently my contract expires on the 26th of November - but there's no record of this anywhere when I login to my account. They said I'll be notified before my contract auto-renews, but i went back and checked my e-mails and I haven't received any such mails from them in the past. What's even funnier is that as per records, I bought the current subscription in Jan 2017, and I never received any email saying that my plan would be auto-renewed. Also, how is it then my one year contract period ends in November?
I asked customer support to take down a request to cancel my subscription post the current contract period, which as per them ends on the 26th of November. But no, the want me to get back to them on 25th November to place cancellation the request. Why on earth am I not allowed to cancel auto-renewal on my account? This is absolutely rubbish and daylight robbery. Sad part is that I've no recourse in this matter! What happens if I miss cancelling my subscription between the 14 day grace period that they have allowed? I end up paying for another year for a subscription that I no longer need. Does anybody have any suggestions on this matter?
