Why are there so many Adobe apps with circle with crosses over the icons?

Hi there, there are alot of Adobe applications with a circle and cross through the icon. (As you can see below.)

My understanding is that apps with this circle and cross over cannot be opened on the operating system. 

My question is; Do I need these, or can they be uninstalled? As I am trying to make space on my Mac but I dont want to remove them if they are running a necessary/useful background process.
