Why does the installer not open and finish the install after it downloads?

I do not not understand why the downloader will not open and finish the install after it downloads - all I get is more advertising junk trying to sell me things I don't need.

    What installer? What system? What else? You need to be a lot more specific rather than rant away...

    The Adobe Download Assistant.    I took a screen shot, and it is just kind of stuck here.

    Douglasucb you will be prompted to choose the download location prior to beginning the download process.  By default the installation files are saved to your download folder.  You can then run the installer from this location to install the software.
