Why had Acrobat disappeared from my Mac?
Product: Adobe Acrobat and CS6 Design Standard.
Machine: new iMac 27" Retina computer.
Issue: After purchasing a new iMac this week, I successfully downloaded Creative Suite 6 (CS6) Design Standard from Adobe, which I already owned and had been using on an older Mac Pro, so I had the necessary serial number to enable my download. All the apps within CS6 were installed, and all worked fine when I tested them. Later, I found the Acrobat app had completely disappeared from my machine. The only thing I may have done to accidentally delete this app was the following: prior to downloading the suite from Adobe, I set up the new iMac using Apple's recommended Migration Assistant app to capture my files from the Mac Pro (not something I'd recommend in the future, by the way; very glitchy). The migration transferred applications from the Mac Pro to the new iMac's applications folder, including my older CS5 apps. After my successful download yesterday of the CS6 suite, i decided to run the CS5 uninstall to delete the unneeded CS5 apps from the new iMac. I'm guessing that this somehow deleted the Acrobat app. Does this mean that Acrobat was not a part of the CS6 suite (I thought it was), and the Acrobat I had was just a holdover from CS5, and therefore deleted? If the CS5 uninstall did not cause the disappearance of Acrobat, what could have caused it? I'm awaiting a response from Adobe (I had an open case number due to questions initially about re-downloading CS6 for the new machine), but as yet have not gotten a response. Perhaps I should await their response, but I thought this might be a question of interest to this forum.
