Question

Why is everything so slow? System requirements the bare minimum?

Hi - I'm sorry if this is a similar question to many that have been asked before but I cannot easily find an answer. I have recently bought a new imac with the spec below. I know it has the requisite hardware etc but it is running so slow with every CC product, I am keen to know if it just because I am running the bare minimum system requirement (that way I can rule out anything else being wrong). We are talking 5 seconds of the beach ball of death spinning for anything to initiate - change a photoshop tool, 5 seconds, move an indesign text box, 5 seconds etc. Driving me crazy. It is my livelihood and I'm taking 10 timea as long to do anything! Many thanks - it a brand new install btw!

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019)

3 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5

8 GB 2667 MHz DDR4

Radeon Pro 570X 4 GB

Thanks so much

Yes the bare minimum. With the minimum be sure to quit one app before you run a second one. Only one at a time. Also, do you have a second monitor?

Thank for that - appreciate you taking the time to respond. How disappointing - my 2012 imac performed better (before it died). I figured that an imac would easily handle all adobe products. It's actually slow regardless of the number of adobe apps open. Only one monitor. Thanks again
