why won't my file open?

after I download my acrobat pro, it says to open.  I click on it and it does not open.  I have an old trial acrobat pro I used.  I have uninstalled it.  When I think I need to install more, I click on the little cd icon and then it asks for serial numbers.  I give the serial numbers that are compatabile with my recently purchased download.  But it is looking for the serial numbers of my trial pro I used last year. 

I have a huge brochure to make by tomorrow and time is of the essence.

    It sounds like you purchased an upgrade version where you should have purchased a full version.  How do you know it is looking for the serial number of the old trial version?
