Why would my serial number for Adobe Master Suite CS6 suddenly be invalid?

I registered it over two years ago after downloading it from JourneyEd/Digital River as part of my tuition paid for resources at SCAD. Long story short, I never entered the serial number back then because I was still working in CS5 and struggling enough with my workload in that program. Now I am ready to move up, and everything is installed, but I keep getting an error message that the serial number is invalid. Can anyone please advise??

    the serial number doesn't change.  it can get black-listed if it's used by others but even that would be an unusual cause for an invalid serial number message.

    here are the common causes, Error "The serial number is not valid for this product" | Creative Suite

    and make sure you're using the correct number, Find your serial number quickly

    and, if all else fails, contact your school to see if that serial number is still valid.
