Widows10 update making PhotoShop CS2 unusable

I have a licensed version of PhotoShop CS2 on my home computer. Last night, Windows10 updated and, when opening PS, I get the message that I must register the program or it will not be usable. When I try to register, I get the message that the registration server is unavailable. Further research says to download a special copy of PS CS2, uninstall the one on my computer, then install the new one. I tried this, using the serial number on my original CS2 packaging, and am getting an "invalid serial number" message.

I pay Adobe a lot for Creative Cloud software at work, but want to use this older PS version for home, since I paid for it. Any clues?

Beth

    >using the serial number on my original CS2 packaging

CS2 + Acrobat 7 + Audition 3 (AND EARLIER) Activation Server is gone, so read below

    https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html?promoid=19SCDRQK

You MUST use the special version and serial number on the page, not your original disc or serial number

Two ideas that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10

-RIGHT click the program icon or EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window

-or Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 to assign FULL Windows permissions may help... this says Encore, but is sometimes required for ALL Adobe programs (this is NOT the same as using an Administrator account) so follow the instructions for your specific program

But, CS2 is so old that it may no longer work at all, especially on Win10 version 1803
