Will CS6 Illustrator and Photoshop run in High Sierra IF the Java for OSX-2015 is installed?

That's the question of the week for me: I have a 2.3 GHZ Core i7 Mac Mini maxxed out with RAM (16 Gigs), running OS Mavericks (10.9.5) and want to update to the latest OS which is High Sierra......

Will these two Adobe appls. work smoothly with the newest OS? I have the Java for OSX 2015 already downloaded to my desktop BUT want to be sure that I'm not stepping off a cliff.......

Thanks!!

Steve

if you have cs6 installed and activated and then upgrade your os, you're more likely to be successful than if you upgrade your os and then try to install cs6.

it's not clear that's true.  in fact, because of the problems being reported you'd be safer to update to regular sierra.

there are problems with it too but it's been out long enough that solutions have been found for most problems.  eg, sierra's not compatible with older software. adobe's posted a work-around:  https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/install-creative-suite-mac-os-sierra.html

    Hello Kglad!

Thanks for the prompt reply. I may be boxed into a corner in terms of choosing which OS to update to......

Apparently, Apple automatically downloads the latest OS that one's hardware will run. I never even knew that there was a "Sierra" prior to the "High" version..........

It's like playing Russian Roulette...........install the wrong OS version and the poop hits the fan.......

Thanks for your advice, I'm going to see if I can even find the "Sierra" OS but I tend to think that it's not going to be available to me since my Mac Mini is loaded with RAM and probably will trigger the "High Sierra" download!

I'll also follow your kindly provided links to see what Adobe's workaround might be....part of the issue for me is that as I just passed 70 and still do product design, I do need to keep the CS appls. running BUT just don;t want to commit to a months rental, especially if work drops off and the software sits there for weeks or months unused......

I'll report back as soon as I do something that results in a positive or negative reaction from the software!
