Will the Creative_Cloud work with CS5.5 desktop applications?

My upload of an Adobe Proto file is not working. Even if it was syncing to my Cloud account, I would not be able to open the files without CS6. Is that correct?

    I have no idea what a "proto" file is... what program do you use to open that kind of file?
