Question

Will "update" overwrite CS6?

I have CS6. I have just subscribed to CC. The Creative Suite installer shows to "update" versions of what I already own, not download. Will this overwrite my CS6 versions? I do not want that to happen.

Pobyt72 it depends on the update.  There are feature bearing updates available for some applications which are only available to subscribers.

that doesn't answer my question. i own CS6 already. i just subscribed to CC. it gives me the options to update, not download CC apps from the CC manager on my top menu bar on my mac. will this overwrite my CS6? i do not want this to happen, because some of my clients do not have CC as of yet. I want both versions of my machine for the time being. is this possible?

There are CS6 updates available which will become disabled when you no longer subscribe.  These are feature bearing updates.

I would recommend that any additional concerns you post in the forum for the specific application.  You can find a list of the available forums at https://forums.adobe.com/welcome.
