Windows 7 and Acrobat from an XP computer

I  have had a desktop with Windows XP OS and now have switched to a desktop with Windows 7 OS. I had Acrobat 10.0 on the XP computer. I took the Adobe files off of that computer and put them on an external hard drive. Can I now put Acrobat 10.0 on the Win 7 computer? If so, what steps should I follow? I received a response once, I think, from somewhere that said I couldn't put Acrobat 10.0 on a Win 7 computer. If it makes a difference, my Acrobat goes all the way back to a 6.0 disk.
