Question

Windows 7 to 10 forced update - my trusty old cs2 will not install - which version next ?

Hi,

I have been using photoshop CS2 for years.
Mainly to annotate photo's with arrows and text. That's 95% of my usage.

I have been forced (reluctantly) to update to Windows 10 and CS2 will not install.

I am looking for something "similar" to CS2, as it took me ages to learn how to use this version.

Could anybody recommend an outright purchase of something similar to CS2 please, compatible with Win 10 ?

Apologies for the obtuse posting here. Any help appreciated.

regards,

Mark

CS2 activation servers are dead.  There is no possible way to reinstall it now.

Depending on what you need, PS Elements might be what you're looking for.  It lacks all the bells & whistles of Photoshop CC but it's way better than CS2 from 2005 with a shorter learning curve.

Cloud Plans https://creative.adobe.com/plans

Special Photography Plan includes Photoshop & Lightroom & Bridge & Mobile Lightroom

You pay for a subscription as long as you want to use the program(s)

Photoshop Elements is a one time purchase

If you buy via download from Adobe you get ONE version, Mac or Windows

If you buy the DVD from Amazon you get both versions in the box

As @John T Smith says, you can get Photoshop Elements, which has more than enough capabilities to handle what you're doing and can be purchased either as a subscription or as a one-time upfront cost.

Or, if all you're doing is adding text and arrows and not actually editing the photographs, you can probably get away with a program like Snagit, which is a screen capture program with some editing capabilities. It's also able to work with JPGs. It's designed to add circles and arrows and text and is far, far cheaper than Photoshop.
