Windows 8 and Photoshop Elements 9

I purchased and downloaded Photoshop Elements 9 on my Windows XP computer.  I had to purchase a new computer with Windows 8.  I want to redownload Photoshop.  I go through all the steps (including contacting Customer Service FIVE times) and download the Akamai download manager (it take 3-4 hours).  Once it is completed, it disappears and Photoshop does not download.   I looked everywhere for it thnking I was missing something but nothing.  Is Akamai even compatiable with 8?  Or, in the alternative, where do I find Photoshop download or.......do I just throw the entire thing out the window.  Thanks.

    activate with your serial number.

    if you have a dl problem, you didn't follow all 7 steps.  re-read and re-try.

    p.s.  you'll probably need to install and run in compatibility mode (xp sp3).

    I am not very computer literate so what does your ps mean.  I don't have any disks--I purchased as a download if that matters.
