Windows message on an iMac

I paid and downloaded PS Elements 11 on my new iMac. Tried to instal and got a message saying that Windows apps were not supported. When I paid for the program, I was never given a choice between Windows and Mac. The description simply read, "Mac/Win". Please tell me what is going on.
